91 pick up cranks but won't start

I got a problem. Here is the scenario, the charge light( battery) came on. The battery seemed to be losing power. I removed battery as a theft prevention measure. I put it back. Tryed to start it. she cranked a couple of times and then starter died. checked fuse box some fuses gone including main 80 A fusable link in charge system. Replaced fuses and altenator. EFI fuse blew again. replaced it. now the starter will turn the engine over but there is no spark from the coil. All other electric components work ie. lights , radio, fuel pump, instrument cluster work. checked battery terminals, good. checkedcoil, igniter, disributer, signal generator resistance good. wiring is good what can be seen. thanks for reading please offer any advice Matt

Does your EFI keep blowing? If so check the wires to the O2 sensors (in exhaust). Mine had that problem and the wire to the O2 sensor goes down on the passengen front fender in the engine bay. Right at the upper control arm (next to engine mount) it goes back. At that corner mine was sometimes shorting out when the passenger side suspension compressed. A couple of times I would take a left turn and the EFI fuse would blow. That was very convenient at an intersection. Anyway, I traced it to the O2 wire. I guess first check your fuses.

Good luck, Arjan

No the EFI does not blow. Thing is, since the initial blow out and replacment of the main 80 A fusable link on the charge circuit, the truck will not start and does not blow any fuses and there is no spark at the coil, components and wiring in charge circuit all seem to be good

Is there 12V going to the coil when the ignition is on? I guess you basically have to trace the circuit back. There is a change something else gave out when 80A blew. There must have been a reason why it blew. Coil shorting out?
Can be fun to trace that, I am sorry but this is all I can come up with for now.

Yes Boy! (Trinity Bay ) sounds like it's your EFI.
Are you SURE it's not blown? Did you pull it apart and measure the resistance accross the small diode inside? Are you getting fuel to the rail? and spark?
If you have spark, but no fuel at the rail, I'll bet you a Jigg's Dinner that it's your EFI again. If it is good, then you have a short somewhere in the electrical.
And when you replaced the 80 fuse and EFI did you push the two re-set switches located under the dash, just over clutch/brake pedal assembly?
