OK, hose from the bottom of the Vacuum Modulator to the metal line running back towards EGR stuff. Dealer wants $23.00 for this rubber hose!!! It's only 3" long!!! My question is can it be replaced with standard vacuum hose.
Here's the catch... real hot air (Exhaust gases) travel to the modulator thru this hose, has anybody melted standard vacuum hose instead of using the $23.00 part from Toyota? Or will it work?
Thanks all!!

Thanks ChickenLover, my original hose split and the stream of hot gases melted the wiring loom casing that runs across the front top of the engine... right above the front cover. No wire melted but I caught it just in time! I couldn't believe it melted a hole right under the EGR Vacuum Mod. I went ahead and replaced it with standard vacuum hose. It's running great but I didn't want it to melt anything else, including the hose!
