89 4runner will 302 ford fit ?

okay here is a new ?
will the ford 302 with auto fit and if so what will i need to do this?
oh yeah i have a 89 runner with about a 4-6 inch sus. lift
i really do not care about the 4x4 part of this swap just yet 2 wheel drive will be fine
okay here the the deal i have a 1977 302 with c6 auto tranny and a rear end from a granda and drive shaft and all the wiring and allthe little s@&t to make run but will the rear end of my yota stay with me if i upgrade it to let's say mid 5's in the gears and ltd slip or locking or sould i upgrade and mod to fit the rear out of the granda?
if this all works out right i will have a 3.0 and auto etc for sell

i have actually seen that swap in a nissan hardbody 4x4-- it worked well, but he ended up having to change the rearend to a ford 9"--that thing was fast even in 4wd

the yota rear should hold up fine as long as you aren't a leadfoot. it's the same diff that's in those high hp supras, just a solid axle version

if you blow it up, i'd throw that granada rear in there, it's a 9", right? only problem is that like most fords, it's probably has 5 bolt wheels. the best setup for that 302 would be a dana 60 rear and d44 front. i'm sure most any old gm 4wd rear axle would fit, as they are 6 lug. if you could find a d44 rear that'd probably work well too, but i don't think many vehicles outside of scouts had them

hey there thanks guys for the input
i was also thinking of going with the supra engine for the ease but i really want away from efi don't get me wrong i just like the carb set up i know it pretty well and in the words of KISS
Keep It Simple Stupid

and i like ford engines and the toyota looks
hey maybe an old bronco transfer case and front and rear axles would work you think?
thanks

the tcase might work, if you want the strongest, most reliable stock transfer case available, go with an np205. the only downside is that it doesn't have the greatest gearing. the atlas is probably the best anywhere, but it's pricey(2 grand)

the axles would be good as long as they aren't those dana 30 pieces of junk, i think old broncos went to d44 front with a 9" rear in the mid 70s, and i know all big solid axle broncos('78 and '79) have a d44 hi-pinion in the front and 9" rear, the front being a desirable axle to have because of it's great ground clearance

the only problem with ford axles though, is that they are all driver's side drop. what year is your runner? if it's a 96 or newer, it'd work fine. otherwise, you'd have to use all the running gear from the ford since a yota tcase drop is on the passenger side before '96.

i'd love to put a 302 in my truck, but i don't want all the work of tearing out all my toyota drivetrain components and all the beefing up i'd have to do. why oh why did toyota never make a decent carbed 6 or 8 i could swap in?
