Can someone tell me where the fuel filter location would be on a 1987 4 Runner. It will start for a few seconds and then die and sometimes run longer and then spit and sputter when I put it in gear then dies. It has over 240,000 miles on it and I don't know if the filter was ever changed by the previous owner.

 

On my 89 it was under the passenger side door tucked way up in there.

 

on my 87 pickup its on passenger side just in front of the rear wheel well.

 

I'll check those locations and see if there is a filter in one of them. Thanks.

 

Just for future reference to 87 4 Runner owners. I found the fuel filter located on the passenger side of the engine. Just above the starter and under the manifold.

 

Not to mention it's a pain in the @#$ to get to.
