85 22re EFI A/C Belt

My a/c compressor has been out for a while now. in fact i cant ever remember it working. i was wondering i could remove the belt that goes to the compress without causing any problems. the bearings in the a/c are going out and squeeking very badly so its getting annoying. can i remove the belt???

Yep, pull it off, no problem. Mine has been beltless for many years.

Easy to loosen the idler/tensioner pulley and then slip the belt off, although you'll have to do the same to the p/s belt and pulley as well. If the belt is in decent shape, it does happen to be the same size belt as the stock alt/water pump uses, so makes a good spare.
