Question 81 yota wiring

Hey I have an 81 toyota 4X4.

The charge light came on today and I am not sure if it is the alternator or the fuse. I was wondering if anyone knew which fuse it was that linked the alternator to the battery,(it has done this once before and it was just the fuse I just can't remember which one it was ) they are the fuses located under the steering colum on the left side if you are looking at the steering wheel. I'm gonna be doing checks on it to see what I can find just wondering if anyone knew which fuse it is that controls the alternator. THanks a lot-Sampson

If the fuse goes alot on it I would look into repalcing the voltage regulator.
I think the regulator is separate from the alternator on our model truck.

haven't heard of the fuse going out from that. generally with the externally regulated alternators, it's a good idea to replace both the alt. and the regulator at the same time.
