I was just reading the manual for the 7th injector kit online and I noticed something. It says: "ECU not calibrated for non-CA spec. vehicles and wire harness plugs are different". What the heck does this mean ? I have a '99 4runner that is not a CA-4runner...I just have 1 cat. Does that mean that this 7th injector kit will not work on my 4runner?

If anyone knows what this statement means...or if you've had trouble installing your 7th injector kit, let me know.

I am not 100% positive but I do not think the 7th injector will work on our rigs (I have a 99 highlander Ed. too). When i had my S/C on, I went with the URD fueling upgrade as i seem to remember the 7th not being available for pre-2000 federal emissions.

 

Yep. I just called TRD and the 7th injector kit only works on CA spec. 99 4runners...bummer. Guess I'm going URD afterall...just didn't want the hassle of the install...oh well.

 

Yeah --- my take on it was that the 7th probably dumps too much gas into the engine and the 2 cats are needed to clean it for emissions. Just TRD being green I guess.
