5VZ-FE unsettling engine squeal

I have a 1999 5VZFE out of a 4Runner. Currently, it is swapped into a second gen.

Odd engine noise that I can only describe and a high pitched squeal. It always happens when first starting up the motor and then shutting her down. I also get the noise with varied repeatability when I accelerate sharply. Squeal seems to happen in the engine is reving down. Clutch in or out does not seem to make a difference.

To troubleshoot I have:
Removed all belts
Replaced timing belt, water pump, idler, tensioner, tensioner pulley.
I have replaced the crank drive pulley with another one from a wrecked 5VZFE. Torqued to 219 FT/LB.

Here is vid before I replaced everything:

Here is vid after WP/Timing with no accessories at all:

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am this close to tearing everything apart. But, I would love to have an idea of what I am looking for before I pull it.

Thanks

Very common....the noise is likely a loose or oil soaked drive belt. Check the tension on all of them. If they have good tension, remove belt to alternator and see if it is turning freely.

Hey there,

Noise remains with all accessory belts removed. I don't even have the upper timing cover on right now. I get the squeal most notably when starting up.

Brand new timing belt, idler, tensioner and tensioner pulley.

Sorry - see that you included that info on your original post. If it were me, I would rev it up and use a mechanics stethoscope (or a long screwdriver held to the ear) and try to pin down the location of the noise. You might need a helper.

If this started right after the replacement of the timing belt components, I might take off the belt and look to see that the idler pulley, tensioner and water pump are spinning freely (did you replace that also?)....also check the torque on mounting bolts. Best I've got at this point.

The sound was there before the timing belt swap. I swapped timing belt, tensioner, idlers in hope one of them was failing.

I have purchased a mechanics stethoscope hopefully will be able to track the the noise with it tomorrow.
