head on collision

So on the 4th of July I was hit head on by a drunk driver in a full size dodge ram, not the one you can see in the pictures, was a lifted extended cab. We were both doing about 60mph, he was driving in my lane, when I saw him I cut the wheel to the right and bounced off his truck and rolled twice.

Wow, just wow. Glad to hear you are still alive after that one. Holy cow.

BTW - was that hi-lift in your rear cargo area? Now I see why people like to put up those cargo barriers...

Yup that's a hi-lift wedged in the back window. You can see the wrenches wedged in the back window too. Had all my tools in the back. Could have taken my head off.
My left leg was pretty much crushed, they were able to piece it back together with carbon fiber rods. The steering wheel went into my stomach and scrambled everything pretty good, they had to take my gall bladder out. Almost lost my liver and pancreas..other than that I'm ok, can almost walk again

That is terrible. I hope he had lots of insurance. How long did you spend in the hospital? Your 4Runner looks eerily like the 2000 my son drives.

That's pretty numbing to see. Glad you are on the mend.

Glad you are basically Ok you lived to talk about, sucks about that 4Runner but they can be replaced
You are extremely lucky that high lift didn't go through your head.
Not to sound like a dick, but you dodged a bullet, anchor your loads

For as bad as the accident was and the injuries you got, looks like you came out ok for the situation. Good to see some of the air bags helped do some protection. Hope you heal up well and back to normal.
