Not sure how far you are willing to go...but here's one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW
And here's (6) within 300 miles of Lexington:

This post makes me want to try the swap. When my dad decides to get rid of his 96 5-speed 4Runner, I may buy it and do the swap.. The only problem is that he is so attached to it, he probably wouldn't sell it for a few years.

Allen,
Go wheeling with the auto and you will change your mind... (flame suit on) Watching everyone stall out and burn out their clutches while you easily glide right up an obstical is something to be said for. Plus... its a truck... its not going to be nearly as fun to drive as the stick cars you have had in the past, though... I do agree it will be more fun. I have come to like the auto in my rig. My theory is keep the sticks in the car that you want to have fun it, and keep the auto in something that your not going to have nearly as much fun with... espcially as you go higher and higher...
Not trying to kill your fire, all the power to ya! Just giving another look on things

Yeah but Austin, how often does he drive it on the street? That is the best question. I tend to agree with you about an AUTO being much easier and smoother to wheel, but on the street, there is just no comparison to the control and improved performance of the 5-speed over the Auto.
Yeah I know it's still a heavy brick, but being able to work the gears through a curvy canyon road or bolt from a stop light quickly is enjoyable. In other words, I can see why he wants a manual. Heck, that's why I unloaded my Tacoma Auto.
Obviously a heavily debated subject that comes down to needs...my .02.

You can reach Mike at http://offroadsolutions.com/
I know for an absolute fact that at least some auto equipped motors do not have the proper pilot-bearing surface even though Toyota only shows one part number for all years. I know of at least two people who have run into this problem. My guess as far as the part# thing goes is they only offer one replacement part since it will work for both of the configurations but the factory temporarily sourced a batch or two that weren't machined.
I think taco pedals would work, you might need to do some tweaking though...

He was banned from this site but since he was local I sorta kept in touch with him, but as far as I know he did not. I would suggest for all of the trouble and cost that you would be better off just buying a manual. The downside of that though, is apparently 5 speed 4Runners are not exactly an easy find from what I read here.
