why would this have anything to do with the syncros? if the syncros were bad there would be grinding when shifting to any other gear....if your syncros are bad you dont really need to get a new transmission you can just double clutch it all the tiome.....

Also, the 2nd gear synchro gets a ton of abuse because there's hardly any momentum when the car is between 1st and 2nd gear. It's practical to assume that this synchro can be bad especially on high mileage vehicles.
To be quite honest I am a living example of someone who doesn't know EXACTLY what's wrong here. I have the same symptoms as what's been described, so I installed a new clutch. Same problem, so I have to move on and assume that it's something other than the clutch causing the problem. Synchros are my next option as they logically should be. Will it fix the problem? More than likely, however if it doesn't, I move on to the next option.

well, since this has been brought up again. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas what's wrong with mine. I went out to go to Kroger earlier tonight, and I got in, and didn't have any clutch pressure, I let it warm up, still no, got out checked the resivoir on the master cylinder, it was full, theres no fluid leaking anywhere....But the clutch isn't doing anything, and it won't go into gear......I'd imagine the slave cylider was out again.....even tho I got a new one a few months ago, and another new one 7 months before that. I'm gonna get out and work on it when the sun comes up.....and it gets a little warmer. If the slave cylider doesn't seem to operate, would that mean it is bad for sure, or how else could I tell.
