well since its a 99 limited, its gonna be the 4speed auto. Your best bet would to go with the toy r150f that bolts to the 5vz. It will be the easiest route.

Yea, i think you aar a bit off hunter. All limited 4Runners had a 4sp Auto.

What you should find is a donor rig that has all the pieces you need, so you dont have to keep going back to it time and again.

A 5spd should bolt right into place of the 4spd. That's what makes Toyota great, most parts are interchangable without heavy mods.

It'll be some work. Good luck with it.

Like was stated above try to find a donor car so it doesn't nickle and dime you to death. That way you can also look and see how everything goes in before installing.

small things are all you really need. not sure about your gen runner and compatibility with the Tacoma's, but in my gen, everything is interchangeable. I say that because you'll have a lot easier of a job finding a Tacoma donor with a 5 speed than you will a t4r.

you'll need a new flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, master and slave cylinders, clutch hard lines, center console surround, cross member, and the pedal assembly. this isn't a complete list, fyi.

that, and you'll have to do some custom wiring on the wiring harness (park/neutral saftey switch) to avoid throwing a CEL. either that or elect to get a manual ECU (if you have a donor, its the best route). Your floor pan will also need to be trimmed a little to accomodate the manual shift levers.

sounds like a lot of work, but I have been told with a group of friends and a case of beer, it's a Saturday night project.

I'll be doing this very swap in my truck at the end of August here.
