5 speed and leather!
Trying to help someone find a Runner. It can be '96-? as long as it is 5 speed and leather. Plus V6 & 4x4 of course. Miles don't really matter.
How hard is this combo to find? Who on here has this combo?

they're out there- but if my understanding is correct, the 5 speed was only available with the SR5/base, and leather would have been an option for those trim levels, so it would have been possible with the original owner's order only.
another option would be to do the leather yourself after you find the 5 speed! probably not too difficult, but maybe a bit pricey.

Forget it. I searched for MONTHS and could not even find a 5 speed period, much less one with leather like was said above.
Getting some leather seats from a limited should only cost a $100 - $200 tops, small price to pay compared tot he cost fot eh truck. Plus if you did find that combo it would cost you more anyways.

You guys are funny...this is easy.
I just did a quick search on autotrader.com and found one. Just got off the phone with the guy (He just did move it around on the lot). He verified that this 2000 4Runner has leather, 5spd, V6 and it's 4wd. It has 155K miles and is $8,000. Took me all of 5mins to find it . He's even in CO!
Now what do I win?? Click Me

Since I'm killing time, here's you another one...even in CO! This is not as hard as you might think . It's a bit nicer than the one above IMO.
2000 V6 for $9,990 w/ 96K miles. Picture # 7 confirms leather, 5spd & 4wd: Click Me

Ok, well back when i was searching 2 years ago 5 speeds could not be found at all.
Course the high gas prices means there are a LOT more 4runner to be had now.
And those above look nice BUT they are a bit higher priced then a lot i have seen latly. I have seen nice 3rd gens for under $5000 as of late.

do ebay searches and type the following for each search:
2000 toyota 4runner 4x4
1999 toyota 4runner 4x4
1998 toyota 4runner 4x4
1997 toyota 4runner 4x4
Once you type in the first one, scroll through each listing to see if its a 5spd or not. THats how i found my 98 and my 2000 - both v6's, 5spds, 4x4
Autotrader online is also good.
Craigslist will sometimes have a gem sitting there too. Good Luck.

Rockslide, good searching man! I hadn't seen those. Pretty nice trucks albeit, a bit expensive IMHO. We were trying to get this one, but it sold. Linky
I just had never really seen 5 spd/leather til I saw that one.

Yeah, they're out there...you just have to know where to look. I'm just surprised they were both in your area.
IMO, if your friend is dead set on both leather & a 5spd being a requirement, I'd just find a good quality 5spd 4x4 V6 4Runner without leather and add the leather later. Finding a 4Runner with the leather/5spd/4x4/V6 combo, IS possible, but you're greatly limiting your selection. 5spds w/o leather are much easier to find now days. Plus you get a better selection to choose from.

Yeah, I know I didn't mention price, but I didn't want to make it seem more impossible! lol...
Matter of fact, I found another one Link IN COLORADO!
WOW.. surprised. This one seems to be the less, better deal though. Actually the 2000 you posted for $7995, is not that overpriced. It looks great and it IS a 2000. I found another one in CO, a 1998 w/116k. $7495. So, the 2000 seems to be a better deal. I'll try to go look at it.

I agree, the '00 is priced right. The other one's a bit steep. Hope the '00 checks out for you. For the few minutes I talked to the sales rep last night, he said quite a few guys had already stopped to look at it. Said he didn't see what all the hype was...
