If price is an object, isn't the V8 $1200 more expensive?

i'm confused...we are talking tundra's right? Are we comparing the 3.4 v6 that come in the tundra (190 HP) to the iforce v8 (240 hp or something like that)? or the 4.0 v6 they are gonna start using in 2005 models (245 HP; 285 ft lbs torque) to the 4.7 vvti iforce they are gonna start using (282 HP; 325 ft lbs torque)....am i confused or something?...the v8 is obvisiously more powerful...i guess if you compare the 04 v8 to the 05 v6 then its would be a tough call but thats not comparing apples to apples either.....correct me if i'm not grasping what we are talking about here....

oh....ok i understand now...i knew there was something i wasnt getting.....i dunno about you guys but i would think that toyota would use the new 4.7 vvti in the 4runners since they are switching them in the tundra.....i wouldnt think they would start producing 2 different 4.7's, one of which having a lower HP rating then the v6's....toyota.com has the new engine listed under spec's in the truck section, but the 4 runner still has the regular 4.7 which either means, a. they arent changing anything or b. they havent updated that section of there webpage yet, the tacoma's havent been updated either since they are getting a big revision....

so to answer the orginal question if they are going to use the vvti 4.7 in the 05 models i would wait for them and get one of those, if they arent going to change anything I would get the v6 if your only pulling a small utility trailor.....

Just wanted to post an update and thank you all. The 4Runner was too small, so he didn't get it. He looked at an ML500 but just didn't like it...felt like a van. He looked at a Toureg but didn't like it...too small and had very "German" seats. Looked at a Sequoia and it just didn't fit right. Finally drove home a Land Cruiser(UZJ 100).
