4th gen owners...roof baskets ???

I know some of you folks have 'em.

Question is, does the stock length look too small and should I be looking at a Megawarrior type size ?

Pics would be cool,

Thanks

David

First 03 with the megawarrior

the loadwarrior just looked too small and the megawarrior fit better.

you can find some steals on ebay!!!

currently my megawarrior has a shovel on there but when i have a chance, i'll be adding a 60" hilift!

I was just about to ask this same question. I am planning a camping trip with the family and need the extra space. I need to know what size and where to get the best price online or otherwise. I am open to other brands besides Yakima.

good times,
I can't really see it very well but the yak rack looks like it's mounted to the skinny crossbars?
I was thinking of buying the lowriders and using yak's round crossbars but it look like you don't need that?

Details, please!

the way i setup my megawarrior was just attaching it to the skinny crossbars.

since I know that I won't be carrying alot of heavy loads up on top this works for me. I know I will be upgrading eventually to prob a more secure method of mounting it directly to the roof itself. this will require me to remove the entire roof rack (02runner has done it to his white 03), and then install something that can be bolted on directly. (prob end up being a custom job).

anyway the megawarrior works fine for now (2 snowboards and or 2 mtn bikes) along w/ a few other items I think it has a 75# weight limit? (not sure) but it's more than enough room for camping stuff though (been tested and approved!)

hope this helps btw, using the lowriders doesn't mean you'll be able to hold more stuff up there as the weight limit is limited by the roof rack itself (only other option is to mount it directly to the frame somehow - don't know anyone that sells something like this yet). Hopefully surco or someone will make some mounts that attach to the factory roofrack mounts (base).

good luck

I've got the Load Warrior. Looks good when you've got a HiLift stuck to one side and a shovel on the other. Attached to the stock rails just fine. The rails supposedly have a load limit of 125#. Went with it over the Mega because I didn't want my HiLift hanging over the edge of the truck.

Unfortunately, all the pics are on my other computer. Will try to post one later.
