4th Gen. hole...

This might be a dumb question, but you know the panel below the steering column. The same panel the ignition is on. Below the ignition, right about where your right knee would be, there is a tiny little vent. If you looked on the inside there is a white tube attached to it.

What does that do?

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the a/c temperature sensor, though I'm not sure why it's a tube...if I remember correctly there are two attachments down there, so perhaps I'm mistaken. I do know that the sensor IS down there because the guys installing the first iteration of my aftermarket stereo broke the ˟˟˟˟˟ out of it and ended up costing THEM a hundred bucks to replace. However for the week leading up to that I got to drive around with my choice of artic blast or desert winds from my a/c...which was great in the dead of winter when you can't open the windows for some air.

I thought the sensor on dash by the light sensor is the A/C sensor? I think there are two things back there though, the white tube is connecting to the sensor on the vent.

Erick do you have any pics of your truck interior and exterior?

Yeah man....I do now Clicky

There are some more pictures of my pride and joy, the sound system, on the other forum. You can hit the link on my signature. Thanks for asking about mine!! After reading your last post I saw your link and I've gotta say I love the tinting. I've been thinking about getting the front done for a long time, especially to help with the contrast on the DVD system.

Goosenheimer,

Your rig looks great. Question, what did you Okeles cost and how do you like them? I really want to protect my 03 Sports' seats as I am always having to carry clients. Why didn't you go for the back seat?

Thanks.

Andro,

Thanks for the question. When I first bought them, I posted some info on T4R that I think you might find helpful. I think you'll find them very useful and comfortable as well. As for the back seats, I had originally planned to get some covers for the back as well, but before I did, I had my new stereo installed and the installers mounted the two amps to the back of the seats. Since then I've been spending my car cash on other mods. I think that it would be possible to just cut some holes to stretch around the amps if I ever DO get covers for the rear seats, but they're simply not in my budget at the moment. Check out the thread HERE

I hope this helps...let me know if I can help you with anything else!!

So does anyone else have any ideas about the little vent by the driver's right knee that has a tube attached to it, behind the panel?

the tube connects to the blower motor box and when the blower is on, it creates a small vacuum that draws cabin air over the sensor to provide an accurate reading for the climate control computer

So no by the driver as it will upset the A/C system
