4Runners With Rear Ladder?

Hey gang, has anyone here ever heard of or seen a rear ladder for the lift gate on a 4Runner? I have been contemplating mounting a ladder to get to the rack on the top, a la Land Rover Discovery or white slavery (uhh..ahem...I mean "conversion") vans...? I think at one time there were concept car or SEMA type photos from Japan of a HILUX SURF that had one. I'd love to hear any ideas that you folks have...rangong from custom to JC Whitney RV ladder modifications...
Thanks!

Steanson

Only way of getting one these days are to keep your eyes peeled on ebay or craigslist.

I have only seen 3 different styles of ladders for the 3rd Gen.....You might be able to source one of these from japan also.

Thanks Rock Slide...I needed that. Now maybe people can just post pics of the different hatch ladders in this thread. A ladder would really be nice when messing with stuff on my rack like surfboards...they tend to be a little unwieldy and delicate, especially longboards in a good breeze. It would also make a great scaffolding for my nephew that thinks he's Spiderman. He's 24. That's a joke, he's only 3. Anyway, someone mentioned they love these things in Costa Rica? Strange...I should look into that...

Great Googly Moogly, I think you may be right! Here's the funny part...I was going to drive to Galveston for temp work blue tarping houses, and one thing I have to have is a 20' extension ladder, which, I will strap to my rack...so...I'll need a ladder to get to my ladder. wha?!?! haha...actually I read another thread about the ugliness of these things, and someone said for the price of a JAOS $600.00 piece of twisted metal, they would rather throw a stepper inside. SO, I found my solution:

heh heh heh...I DO love ladders... ;^)

This is where it gets funny...I was going to say I like the telescopers because they collapse small and seem to be sturdier than the Little Giant types...when I found THIS little gem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjoCeL-f8Mk
to which I say USER ERROR. haha
I was actually looking for THIS, but found it's not a Little Giant by name, but it's still a bendy jobber that I would really REALLY not trust climbing bunked on air with a hose pack and a tool...well, just watch and imagine the embarrassment...

Have you ever considered adding rock sliders to your 4runner? Among other things, they also make a good stepping point for getting to the roof rack.
