Not much leg room for the back row. I saw a Runner with the third seat facing backwards. It gave more room but somebody has to open the hatch from the outside. Unless there's an inside latch mod I havent heard of.

 

At that rate why not just buy a stationwagon.

 

Still good for little kids though. Id rather that than be forced to get a Sequoia or dare I say a mini-van. I think my dog would like that too instead of falling all over the place in the cargo area...awe crap I keep forgetting I dont have a 4Runner any more If I had one, my dog would like taht more

I bet you could install that to face backwards. It looks like it mounts just like a Jeep Wrangler rear bench.

 

Looks very small to me. If I needed the third seat, Id just save up and get a larger suv.

 

A family Mod? JC whitneys has got some removable 3rd row seats for the 4Runner. Check um.
