4runner Lifts

it would work but your cv axle angle is going to be way to great. jeeps dont have this problem due to the solid axle but us ifs trucks gotta worry about the cv angles. if you want the maxium lift without a body lift get my set up. i believe i have the most lift without a body lift... and get glassworksunlimited.com fenders and you can run 35's with only a little trimming of the stock fenders... my 2cents.

4x4snowRunner You have the same set up I'm about to install
I'm kinda new to this forum. I own a bone stock 1996 4runner lim. I just bought the complete OME suspension like yours. Haven't installed it just yet. How do you like it compared to stock? Did it really raise it 2-2.5inches? How does the on/offroad experience change?
I am thinking about running 33's, prolly get a spaced out rim. I just ordered a 4crawler 3in body lift.... what do you think?

Sonoran Steel kits are pretty well respected. Here is a link:
http://sonoransteel.com/
I would read up a lot of the FAQ section on the Sonoran Web site. It answers a lot of lift related questions. For example- I believe spacers are not a good idea if you actually want to wheel your truck. Some people have no trouble with them at all but others have. I like to avoid trouble myself.....
Guys can and do run up to 35" tires-but you have to expect and budget for wear and tear on CV related parts, higher gas prices from reduced mileage, etc.
Toytec is also well respected for their lift packages. I bought my front diff drop kit from them and it does not look like I will actually need it, I am watching my CV angles now....
You may be able to save some money by assembling some opinions, deciding what you want to get, and then pricing the pieces at a number of sources.
There are many, many, many good combinations and jakethesnake you sound like you want to climb so I would recommend the landcruiser springs for your rear end. Is that a manny tranny or an auto tranny with near 400K?
My lift is only about one week old and I am loving it. I gained only 1" up front but 3" in rear. I run 32" tires (the 265/75/16 size) and that is a good combo for me. I can take railroad tracks at full speed and they fill like a ripple underneath.
See my thread "Old Man Emu recap" as I just went through all of this and am glad to help ya out. I lean toward their stuff as they are big in Australia with the Yota set.

Could those of you that run 33s and suspension lifts post your setup, possibly pics, and your experience with that setup. It would be nice to maybe have a bunch of potential setups organized by tire size, body/suspension, etc.
I too have a stock suspension and will be getting new tires at the end of summer. I would love to move up from my 265s and get 33s (285s I think). What I want is really a permanent setup that will require no maintenance and do minimal wear and tear to my car. I want the most cost effective, but best quality lift...lol.
I have a 98 SR5 4WD. I do not really wheel much but would want something that could handle minor offroading and snow. What are the best options? I've got around 124,000 miles but just had the timing belt and water pump replaced at 120k. Last time I took it in to get checked over they said it was in "freakishly good" condition and just rotated the tires. I just feel like a small lift and small (1 inch) increase in tire size will make a huge difference in look and feel.

Stock will take you way further than you would imagine. Just get some good tires, learn to drive it, and enjoy your truck. If you need to go further than that, I'd get a rear locker before a lift.

Or just replace your tired suspension with a new '99 coil setup since that seems all you need and it will fit the 265/75 under it with a little room to spare. The 265 will fit the stock suspension but with the '99 setup it'll give you a slight lift.
Any bigger of a tire will require a bigger lift plus 285s are a bit big and will have a negative effect on MPGs and acceleration plus the cost of the bigger tires and the lift

You probably don't want to hear it, but stay stock. Any mod you do will have some negative aspect as well, although most people tend to forget that when they post about their latest cash drop (considering
).
