4Runner just died while driving down the road!

I have a 96 4runner with the 3.4 as I was driving it shut off on me and now wont start. It cranks but no start.
It threw a code for camshaft sensor, I replaced it with an OEM one from Toyota , still wont fire up.??
I had a Toyota guy come and look at it, we trouble shot a couple things, and found out, its not getting spark! Fuel pump is working as it should.
But No spark? What controls the spark to the coils? IS there a fuse or something ? Whats next to trouble shoot? Thanks in advance!!

Yep, timing belt still intact. Did a couple of tests and fuel pump is working too. The issue is not getting spark from coil packs..But what causes no signal to coil packs?

So it gave you a false code for "camshaft sensor"?
Got power to the ignitor / coil circuit?

Red face

Just remember just because you get a cam sensor code(PO340) it is the complete circuit

Did Changing this sensor clear the PO340 code??

The sensor the wiring and the ECM.

Now when you get some codes the ECM will shut off the fuel and ignition .

I can`t keep them all in my head
