finally found the problem. good ole search button led me to it. for all future references you have to ground the wire coming FROM the white female plug, not going to it.. works like a charm, best free mod

Why wouldnt you want this? Its traction all the time. I have a lunch box locker in my runner and I almost like it more than factory e locker, just cause it's less hassle and less to go wrong.

man wish I had a locker! question for you guy with electric lockers, this may also apply to air lockers as well. when your locker is engaged and locked, can you unlock it at any speed or will this damage drive train and diff components?

Back from the dead, but since its halloween it seems appropriate. I just did this mod and to confirm (or repeat what everyone else has said):
1) Remove the kick panel from the floor and the driver side
2) Locate the black box, mine had ABS written on it. The green box is the 4wd computer, but thats not the one you want.
3) Cut the blue\red wire and ground the end that is coming out of the white plug. I used a bolt that was already being used by a ground by 2 brown wires, its just above the green box.
4) Put everything back together and test it out.

Well I finally broke down and decided to do this mod since I had the trim and seats out to hunt down a water leak. So after twisting my 44 year old body into the most unnatural position, lo-and-behold, I already did it!!! I have no idea when I did but sure enough, it works!!! I swear I'm getting that old-timers disease... I can't remember what it's called though...

so in order to get it to engage over 5mph do you also have to cut another wire other then grounding one? does anyone have problems w abs light on after doing this mod? just curious before i cut wires, this seems like the least expensive coolest mod ever!

Asked above about disengaging.
My E-locker doesn't seem to like to disengage unless I slow down. Although I have been able to successfully disengage it at some speed.
