4Runner Body lift/shifting question
so i did a lil search on google but didnt find anything in particular to my issue, but i just recently put a 2in Body lift on my 4runner to accompany the 3in suspension lift. i also picked up the 2in extensions for my 5spd and trans case shifter.
did a lil cutting to allow the shifter some room, and all seemed well, until i replaced the rubber shift boot underneath the leather shift boots. it wouldnt stay in second gear with it. so i removed it drove home and the heat and sound that came from it gave me a horrid headache.
so messed around a lil and got it to stay in gear but its a bit harder to shift into second and if im in 4L i cant go into reverse or second gear without holding the transfer case shifter (if im sitting still)
anyone experiencing this and have any tips to keep the rubber boot and eliminate that issue?

without the rubber boot on there it shifts fine though.
it seems that how the lever is bent and becoming two inches lower that the rubber is getting in the way.its not hitting the tranny tunnel opening i checked that out before putting everything back together
