3VZE engine swap complete with extras.

I have completed my install. I have installed a rebuilt 3VZE with towing cams, NWOR high flow fuel injectors"for when I install the new computer", Downey headers, High flow Cat, Jardine 2.5 cat back exhaust, and a K&N cold air intake. Also have added a centerforce dual friction clutch. The trucks is a 40% improvment over what it was. One problem I see with the aftermarket parts I have installed is before I did the K&N I had the stock breather on it. The truck seemed to have more torque and run better. When I put the K&N on it, it seemed to loose power. Not sure why this would be the cause. I am going to put the old breather back on. Overall I am very happy with the runner now. When I have the 5:29 gears installed it will be everything I need.

Yes I did have options on the type of engines I could have installed. Heck I even had a 3.4 on hand I could have installed. I just wanted a direct drop in and hook up.

Yes it is the 3slow but I did not buy this truck for drag racing. You lock it in 4 low and it will pull itself very well.

A few questions;
Did you rebuild it yourself or purchase it with those options?
Is the 0-3000 rpm range significantly better?
Have you had a chance to check the gas mileage?

I purchased the engine from auto engines with the cams and as a dealer drop in.

The 0 to 3000 rpm range is a big difference. A good difference.

My gas mileage at this time is around 250 miles to a tank. Alot of that has to do with my tires and not beeing geared correctly.

Sounds like a sweet 3.0. How much do you think the injectors helped? And what do you mean by a "new computer"? My engine is set up somewhat similar to yours sans the injectors. I notice better torque when my K&N gets a little clogged. I wonder if it would help more by replacing with a stock filter.

Injectors dont help yet except they are clean. I will either purchase a venom module or send my computer to jet for a reprogram. This will allow the fuel injectors to flow more fuel becasue the computer will tell the injectors to let more fuel in.

I am thinking that K&N knows of this problem and that is why they are saying that the state no power gains on this setup. I will remove mine and put the stock breather back on.
