Funny you should ask. He hadn't finished that when I came to get it. I took the tire off and you can see it in the stock place. On weds he will install a bracket on the main beam for the plate.

Nice website but when I click on certain items, nothing pops up. Mostly interested in 3rd gen 4runner stuff.

Have you tested that bumper towing? Will it be rated to tow the factory 5000 pounds with a 500 pound tongue weight?

He is rolling out the web site this week so he is just started to populate it. Did you get the pics you wanted.

On the towing, the tow hole (??) is part of the bumper. He told me if I wanted to do any real towing to let him know and he would build the supports like Slee's for the Land Cruiser towing. Kind of like this:

The above picture is my 80 series Land Cruiser. The 4 runner is my daughters and she won't be towing so I didn't add that. Seems like it would do fin on flat land, but for heavy loads or mtn driving the extra supports should be added.

It would be fine for a bike or ski rack.

Thanks.

The younger daughter just got an 80 series Land Cruiser with 160,000 miles. You think that and the fact my wife has an 06 4runner means I like Toyota's?

The extra bracing is a good idea for sure. I would be towing a 3700 pound 19' long popup camper with 450 pounds of that being tongue weight. It does great right now with my Trailcarnage bumper, but I have always wanted a tire carrier.

My concern always shifts back to the frame and the extra stress added by the tire carrier. I wonder if some frame bracing might be in order for that much towing weight and a tire carrier?

Oleg makes these in his shop and is pretty willing to customize or make something special depending on his needs. It's harder for the larger shops who send out an electronic file and have them made by machines in quantity.
