3rd gen lift... OME, Kings, SAW..... uggg even more confused now....
Ok, so I've read and read and read some more.....
Does it get any easier????
Yes, I know... I'm a noob... Help me make the right choice so I don't waste my time and money.
So, here's what I got so far.
98 4x4 SR5 = my truck
I want a smooth ride, I sold my lowered Honda for a reason.
Here's what I've chosen so far.
All OME stuff
N91SC front shocks
881 front coils
10mm spacers in front
N86C rear shocks
890 rear coils
1" transfer case spacers
From everything I've read, this is a comfortable ride, still allowing me to tow something light (2000lbs).
Ok, where to get the best prices on OME (yea, I searched)
what swaybar disconnects are worth while???
Anything I'm missing?
Thanks!

I got my OME stuff from Mike @ xtremeoff-road.com he's a member on here and does alot of group buys for us too.
I got my disconnects from Lars Dennert. You probably don't need them right away, go with us a few times offroad. You said you were going to take it easy for a while. I just got my disco's this month and I've been taking my 4Runner on some pretty rough trails for over a year without them.

In case you were wondering you can reach Mike by PM here he goes by XtremeOff-Road or you can check out his website http://www.xtremeoff-road.com OR you can call him on his cell phone. If you do a search on Mike and cell phone I'm sure it'll come up.
You may want to check some of the for sale sections of several sites TTORA, 4x4wire, etc, etc...

Definitely give Matt Peters a call at Peters Offroad. Mike's prices will probably be slightly better, but no one can tough Matt's customer service. I bought my OME gear from him, and I'd go back to him in a heartbeat.

OME
I just replaced all my OEM stuff with OME
Front:
881s and N91Ss
Rear:
891s and N86s
My hiney is slightly higher than my front, but when I tow it levels out quite nicely even heavily loaded, so I'm happy.
For some help on installing all this stuff yourself, check out my webpage and go to the write-ups section. I have details on installing the OME stuff.
You can't go wrong with the OME stuff. You've made a wise choice. You will sit a little more even that I do, and your ride will be a little softer, but you will still be able to tow with only a bit of sag in the rear. My 4Runner rides much better and has much less body roll in turns than before. If I had known about the much better ride with the OME stuff before I would have done it sooner.
Don't forget the diff drop kit to lessen the angle on your CVs. You can buy one or just make on from some longer bolts and washers. Do a search to find out how.
Good luck!

I also have a TJM on order (any second now) from Mike.
I agree with you that this has been the hardest thing to figure out without driving a few examples of each set-up.

This probably belongs in it's own thread but.....
I just placed my order for OME's (front & rear) and a TJM from Mike at Xtreme. The countdown begins......................

If you need help installing them, setup a post called "San Diego Wrenchathon!".
Make sure you post what you want installed. Make sure you have ample space to get the work done and also make sure you provide some grub! Lots of members here are very friendly and will have no problems showing up at your doorstep to give ya a lending hand.
This way you meet some of us and also learn more about your own truck
