3rd Gen Front Receiver
Has anyone ever modified a Tacoma front mounted reciever hitch to fit their 3rd gen 4Runner? I have been searching for a front mount for my 99 Runner with no luck. How different are the mounting points between a Taco & a Runner of similar years?

With your 99.. Very different. You have a big plate on the end of your frame horns, Tacomas don't. However, cut that plate off and I believe you can mount things like a tacoma. Search for the writeups people have done about putting an ARB tacoma bumper on the 4Runners.
