3rd gen comparision of 1in lift pics

I'm kind of stuck in between whether to go with the tundra lift or just the 99 coil lift. I dont wheel at all so im guessing the tundra lift might be over the top. For those of you who lifted your 4runner an inch can you post before and after pics. thanks

I have a 97 2wd so im hoping maybe the 4wd coils give me ~1 1/2 inches

Look at any of the guys/gals that have the PP/Bilstein combo. They should have about the amount of lift you're looking for. Off the top of my head, Bob_98SR5 and Lee both have this lift. They both should have profiles in the 3rd gen gallery.

plan for the future: do you want larger tires? if so, how big? if 32", the 99 springs will cut it, but just barely. the PP 1" springs would be a better choice if you plan to go to 32"s. if larger tires, then you have many choices, too numerous to list off the top of my head

I already have 32"s and thats as big as im going. I only rub if i hit a big dip while turning. i like the pp springs but theyre $300 for the front and rear.

Yeah, the PP springs and OME for that matter are expensive. If you're not gonna go off-road, just go w/ the '99 springs. You should probably also swap out shocks to 4x4 ones since the '99 coils will be taller than your 2WD springs.

It's not necessary but a good idea. You have a '97 and if you haven't changed out the OEM shocks, they're probably pretty beat up. Have you noticed uneven tire wear, cupping, etc? This could be a sign that your shocks are no longer working as intended.

Plus, swapping out the front springs is the same labor when you change the front shocks. The rears are different so they don't count for this last sentence.

If you do a 1" bl, you don't need to worry about alignment or changing out any of your suspension parts. This is definitely a cheaper way to go to get lift plu it will help in your slight rubbing issues as well.

all my tires have worn evenly. I can get both the body or coils for about the same price. It's all about what's easier to install.
