I swear by this thread. It worked great for me. Are you sure you didn't bottom out one of the chambers in the MC and allow air in to the MC and the rest of the system? You really should top up after each wheel cylinder or at least check it. There is not much fluid in there. If you did get air air into the MC, then you have to bleed the MC and repeat the process. I didn't read back, but I think he explains this.

Yep, I checked the MC and made sure I had plenty of fluid before bleeding each wheel. I think it may have just been a lack of pressure I allowed into the gadget. When it blew off the top the first time around I think I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again and I swung the other way and didn't allow enough pressure in the rest of the time. I'd like to experiment with a smaller diameter flexible plumbing part that might give me a better seal around the MC, even though I didn't have any leaks I think it might help it stay on under higher pressure. I have a '98 btw, not sure if the reservoir is different from the '99+ that the original tool was designed for. Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea for a tool, I'm thinking it was operator error on my part this time and I'll give it another shot next time around.
