I would never go completely doorless on a 3rd gen. There is a ton of area exposed with only a B pillar. Going without doors for me isn't really for looks, but if I didn't every trail I would be needing new doors. It is also amazing how much easier it is to drive a trail compared to with full doors.

nc994run something else you may want to consider while you are in the process is reinforcing the B-Pillar.and potentially the hinge area. I need reinforce the B-Pillar area.. My hinges are helped out by a bar that goes from the tube to the roll cage, but you cann't do that unfortunately.. Last year I creased my B pillar from hitting the doors, at least it was easy to pull out.

after doin all the work, I'm not sure how realistic its going to be for me to make them. Plus there's the fact that my welds aren't very pretty, but they are strong. I think shipping would also be a deal killer. I will have all of the measurements, angles, etc and be able to provide a pretty detailed list of parts and a design for a shop to build.
My costs right now are as follows:
40' of .120" HREW steel - $140 (a little high)
Parts for door latches - $30
Cutting and grinding wheels - $20
Plus any shipping cost and some cost for labor. I'll have to see how much time I have this summer (also have a job in Montana that takes up 7 weeks of the summer).

Yea it does, I just plan on checking the weather a lot so I can put the doors back on if I need to. My backup is to carry a tarp/ car cover and some tie downs in case it rains. I plan on locking up any valuables in the glove compartment, but in Blacksburg, I'm not too worried about theft.
