3rd Gen 4Runner Heater/AC Blower Motor Upgrade?

Mornin'!

I'm wondering if any of y'all have done a Heater/AC Blower Motor upgrade. More specifically, a motor that has higher RPM's but is a direct bolt-on replacement for the OEM motor. I'm even wondering if a different cage would move more air? Don't get me wrong, the A/C blows nice and cold but sometimes we wish the fan had a higher CFM output. We live in TX, it gets a bit toasty here so a few more CFM's/RPM's would do us dandy. When I get a chance, I'll search for a manufacturer and/or spec. decal on the actual motor to see what the OEM rating is. Thanks in advance for any technical information, I hope y'all have a good and safe one.

I would imagine it’s possible but remember all the components were engineered for that system, duct size, air flow, cfm etc, putting a bigger motor or more air might be the same or worse. Sounds like a can of crazy worms to me

LOL! I'm willing to take that chance if it's a bolt-on job.

Is the A/C evaporator and heater core nice and clean (free of dirt, leaves, mysterious tree branch, or mouse nests)?

/\ /\ /\ What he said. Take the blower out, and peek inside there. Quite often there's a massive accumulation of 'stuff' blocking off half the evaporator's area. There's no cabin air filter, so anything that makes its way into the HVAC system from the cowl can get piled up there.

Side note on cabin air filters: Both of the (well used, lol) cars we bought with cabin air filters were NASTY and nearly totally clogged. Replace the filters and oh, wow, *there's* all that fresh air.

Yes, ALL of the obvious things have been checked and are working fine. This isn't my first 3rd Gen 4Runner so I'm familiar with the system and what 'normal' is. We would like it to just have a bit more CFMs so I'm asking if anyone has upgraded the motor and/or cage.
