Hi Guys from Australia i have a 97 Toyota Surf 3 litre turbo diesel SUV.
I am trying to find out if the USA supplied 96/97 limited 4runner came with woodgrain trim as an option.
The part i am looking for is the woodgrain bezel around the 5 speed stick shift.
If so would anyone know the US Toyota part number?

I can tell you that my 96 limited automatic, that has wood grain, is just black around the shifter.

 

Hi I have since learned the year model 98/99 4Runner had the woodgrain bezel around the gear shift.
There are some woodgrain bezels from 99 Auto trans 4Runners listed on ebay but I have not seen a manual stickshift woodgrain bezel
They were fitted to the right hand drive JDM Toyota Surfs as an option.
Anyhow someone will know

I have a '99 manual with dealer installed wood trim. No wood by the gear levers. The center console pictured is quite different than ours. Our clock is in the center. There is also an inner wood surround around the top and two sides of the Audio HU-HVAC area that the pictured Surf does NOT have. The Surf also lacks the wood panel below the gauges and the trim around the side vents that came on mine. So I would say the shift bezel you covet is JDM only.

3rd gen Limited 4Runners in the US are only automatics.

No such thing as a 5 speed limited. I did consider adapting the wood grain surround of an automatic to match my woodgrain interior that I got from a Limited in my SR5 but could not visualize that it would fit as the 4x4 shifter changes sides from an auto to a manual tranny.
