30 mph mark

Hello,
I am new to the forum, and I started having trouble with my 1995 3.0 auto 4runner. it idles ruff and then went I start to accelerate it feels and sounds like it is misfiring. And dogs, even more than usual, and get it up to 4,000 rpm's. When it reaches 30 mph, it surges and it feels like all the cylinders are hitting. It runs fine then. the check engine light just came on, but I have not had time to pull the code on it yet. There is also a very bad smell with it. It smells kinda like a cat, and kinda almost like hot rubber. I changed the plugs, wire, rotor, fuel pump, and o2 sensor all within recent history. I also had a new radiator put in with fresh coolant. Any clues? Thanks.

I have 105,600 on it, and they were changed changed right before i got it at 75,600. It also started after i had gotten a new tank of fuel. i was thinking it might be water in the fuel. I am at school, so it will be hard for me to pull the code.

On my 22re all I have to do to pull a code is conect 2 holes of the diag box with a wire (there is a diagram under the hood) and count the flashes. The fule thing is a likely culpret though. I have had bad gas before and it ran like crap untill it was out of the system. You might consider a new fule filter if it continues into your next tank of gas. Remember to keep your tank full in cold weather to prevent condensation and water build up in your tank (especially if you are like me and don't drive much while you are in school).
