3 wheel motion 4runners
Any of you ever got your 4runner up on 3 wheels? Well my buddy BigRedRunner (Charles) does it all the time when pulling into parking lots or turning around fast in parking lots. I did it for the first time today while doing 10-20 MPH. I was driving down the street and a friend waved me down. So trying to show my shiznit off I flipped a biznatch. I swerved to the side of the road dropped it into first and cranked the wheel. I expected the tires to burn while they turned but NO. They chirped about three times and the front drivers side picked up off the ground when i hit sharpest point of the turn. Scared the crap outta me! I have never even attempted doing this. This was an accident. I look back on it and think of how easily I could have flipped Blue. Have any of you ever done this? Ben

i think he means he wants you to post a big picture of your truck so he can see it in detail, either that or make it so your truck takes up the whole avatar

I've had it on the two passenger side wheels once when I swerved to miss a car that ran a stop sign. I'm not quite up as high as you though and don't think it would happen just flippin around...

That is a product of poor suspension geometry. Happens all the time to guys with Jeep TJ's that have ~6" lift and still have short control arms. I would say you should look into some longer control arms for the rear as a start.

Maybe I'm missing something... but why would someone want to/try to do that? I've been on 3 wheels on the trail a couple of times, but I can't see why someone would want to take a turn too fast/tight to get a wheel off the ground.

The three wheel thing is something front wheel drive cars do all the time. I never realized it until watching VW Golfs racing in an SCCA event. During cornering the rear inside wheel lifts off the ground 3-6 inches. My friend had one so we tried it. All we had to do was do a slow u-turn to pick the tire up. He then bought a FWD Toyota (don't remember the model). It did it just as easy. This never seemed to safe to me. Its bad enough having FWD, then you loose 25% of traction when the rear wheel lifts up during cornering.
As far as a Runner doing it I'm sure it has to do with lift, and suspension changes. You may be lifting one of your wheels off the ground more than you know .

Do it in my truck every time i turn a corner hard, inside wheel comes of the ground and cherp, cherp, cherp. If i go too fast nothin but spinning. I chalk it up to no weight and a stiff suspension. Get use to it and it becomes fun.

Why don't you post your pics on Webshots and link it in your sig.

Homo Burrito? Josh, you are killing.
Most of the time, I hit the three wheel motion because of IFS when wheeling. I even mention that exact phrase when Martin is cross French Creek in the CO4RJ video and no one seems to get it.
Doing it a 20 mph seems like a good way to roll with a lot of lift and high speed.
