3.4 Swap Auto Trans Options
Hi Everyone, I am a new member but i have been browsing this forum for a while.
Anyhow, to the point.. Has anyone thought of using the T100 running gear. Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't these trucks available with the 5vze and automatic 4x4 trans with passenger side transfercase? If so, would this solve the adapter and related issues? Just curious.
Or did they adapt to the new frontend when they went to the 3.4

That sounds like a plan.
The auto adaptor is off the market. It should come back on line when my truck and trucks like mine, stop leaking ATF into the crawler.
The T-100 was not as widely produced as the other rigs, but if you could find one, it would work well.

Very true, Maybe you could control the T100 transmission with the regular 4runner / tacoma ecu then you would only have to source a T100 auto trans. I guess you could even purchase a newly rebuilt transmission from somewhere if you couldn't find one at the junk yards. I am thinking about this for my 94 4x4 truck, so far this seems like it would be the easiest.
