3.4 swap

3.4 swap
I will be doing a 3.4 swap in my 94 runner. I read you can use the 3.0 flywheel on the 3.4. Is this correct? If so couldn't you use the 3.0 clutch. If you have to use the 3.4 flywheel I am assuming you can just use the 3.4 clutch unless the disk splines are different from one to the other.

I am currently doing this conversion myself. From what I understand you use the 3.4 flywheel and clutch disc/plate and the 3.0 TO bearing. Sucks because the 3.4 clutch is much more expensive then the 3.0.

I believe you'll have to use the 3.4 flywheel, clutch disc and plate from the 3.4. I don't remember specifically comparing them but I think the bolt pattern and spacing is slightly different; not to mention the disc is larger. One thing for sure, you must use the 3.0 release bearing; I just put another 3.4 in my 88 4runner (I melted pistons in my original 3.4
) and the 3.4 clutch kit includes a release bearing that won't work with the 3.0 transmission.
