3.4 Engine idle

My idle sits at about 6 which doesnt seem to be bad BUT! my oil light starts to flicker, So Im thinking that due to the low idle there is low oil pressure and thats causing the flicker. My last truck had a 22re and it didnt like idleing under 9. So Im curious if others are having this problem and where their idle is sitting at.

That seems a bit low for the 3.4 (mine sits at about 650-750....usually right on 700 rpm). I have never seen my oil light come on though. You might want to check oil level and oil filter for blockage, then if all looks good you should have the oil pressure tested.

Is it really computer controlled, I havent had a chance to check it yet. I am now thinking that maybe my oil filter might be the problem, it isnt a Toyota filter and Ive read that that could affect presure.

Yes, it is.....there is no adjustment like on a 2nd gen.

I would at least try a different brand filter and change the oil to 5W30 if you aren't running that already.
