Question 3.0 with no spark

Been reading a bunch of helpful tips on this site for a little while now, but now I need some more specific help.

’91 4Runner, 3.0 was running fine, backed out of the driveway today and it just died. Upon inspection noticed ground wire at battery was loose, easily fell off the battery when I pulled on it. Bad me. Anyway, now the engine turns over fine and I seem to have fuel. (cracked open cold start line, gas under pressure when fuel pump on) but it just won’t start.

I have no spark when I hold a plug to ground.
I have no spark when I hold the coil wire to ground.
Checked all the fuses I could find with no problems.
I have 12v to the coil with ignition in “on” position.
I have .4 ohms primary side resistance (seems to be within spec)
I have 12.3 ohms secondary circuit resistance (also seems to be within spec)
With cap off, ignition rotor does spin when engine cranks
Truck flashes a code 12.

I have searched, but with no luck. Wondering what I might be missing. Could the loose ground have caused some problems? Maybe a fuse or fusible link I missed?

Check the distributor cap and rotor. I had nearly the same symptoms and it turned out to be the distributor cap. May want to check that the distributor is turning when the cap is off. May be a seized dist. My two cents anyways.

Thanks for the ideas Babypig. The rotor does rotate with the engine, so I guess that could be worse news. I don't think it is the cap, as I can't get spark frome the coild wire to the distributor. I just can't figure out what part (or parts) are causing the problem. Can't undertsnad wether or not the ignitor is getting the message from the ECU, or if the ECU isn't getting the message from the distributor. Or maybe the ignitor is just ignoring everybody.
