Unhappy 3.0 motor problems

After having the head gasket recall done, my 4Runner just hasn't been the same.

I can feel the motor shake especially when idling in gear. It seems to be worse when the truck is cold. I don't think it is missing anymore because the rpms seem pretty steady. Could it be possible that I have a cylinder that isn't firing at all?
Could it be that my timing is off? They were supposed to fix the timing the last time it was in the dealership.

It has recently had a tune-up with Toyota parts. The last time it was at the dealership they charged me $220 to replace my TPS because my timing wouldn't adjust right and it was so far advanced it was missing.

My motor sounds different too. Its more of put-put instead of a hum. (Its hard to make sounds with words.)

It didn't do this until it went to the dealership. I don't want to take it back to the same dealership anymore because I have already been up there a few times and I feel their work isn't very good at all.

The dealership that I've had problems with is Classic Toyota of Round Rock, Tx. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Bossier-Atkinson Toyota in College Station? Does anyone know of another good Toyota dealership around here?

Thanks guys

Well I would sure take it back.. If you have had undue trouble with that dealer, call coperate HQ for Toyota and ask them if you can bring it to a second dealer to have this problem looked into.. It could be broken plug wires, a dropped plug with a bad gap, a low compression cylender (valves, timing, headgasket compression bleed off to a second clinder)

But I personaly would bring it to them and make a major fuss.. They may have the valves too tight, and it will burn the valve seats in no time...

Man these 3.0's suck...

Well......

If you feel the first dealership does not do good work, then DO NOT go back to them, as for Bossier-Atkinson Toyota in College Station, I go to TAMU and have not gone to them yet (though I probably would not knowing there are "better" dealerships in Houston(Tejas Toyota, Sterling Mcall Toyota, Jay marks Toyota, Joe Myers, etc...), if I were you I would take the drive to Bossier-Atkinson and give them a try, they sound like a reputable dealership if you ask me.

Hope that helps.
