With the price of diesel today...I think doing a 1uz swap would be better if you plugged it all in a spreadsheet and figured it out over a year.

 

What kind of MPG would people expect from a 1UZ on an autobox?

I just filled mine up... £73, thats $145... for about 320 miles...

 

People are getting close to 20 if not 21-22 on the highway. More power + lighter foot = easier to move the truck around thus requiring less fuel.

 

I'd be very interested if you could ship into san fran and what kind of price are we talking? I have sooo many customers who want to run bio.

 

If you want any Toyota diesel engine, come to either Belize or Guetamala. I can get my hands on a 3.0L I4 1KZ-TE w/ intercooler for less than $2000bz. and if i want more power but same engine, i would just buy a newer 3.0L I6 1KZ-TE intercooled from a Hilux.

Down here in Belize it is extremely easy to your hands on a half decent Toyota diesel engine. it's a little harder to get a good 1KZ-TE but it is possible. and if you have endless amount of money, why not the new 4.5L twin turbo with over 600ft.lb.torque? it only runs around $15,000us.

well, i could talk to a few people, and if you drive down you would obviously get it alot cheaper.
your best bet is to email the Belize dealership, they get you the best quality without ripping you a new one because of price. as for shipping. i could set up something with some locals that would like to transport engines to USA.
but it'll be awhile before i can talk to the driver about it. but if i could get enough requests for shipping and you orderd all from Belize Diesel(toyota dealership) i think something could be arrainged.

so basiclly, you still pay for the motor and shipping, i just get you a reliable shipper from here that goes to L.A. every 2-3 weeks. That's all i can do. i'll try and find more sources for a good Toyota TD engine if Belize Diesel can't get their hands on some.
