2WD wheelin?
I have a 97 2WD
i do have larger tires and plan to get "99 4WD springs for a lil lift)and i am wondering if anyone has videos or pics of some 2wd 4runners doing watever they can. I have no idea of the capabilities of a 2wd runner so i would love to hear and see what yall have to say/show. thanks!

I don't have any videos, but with your lift you'll be no different than a 4wd truck in 2wd -- which isn't bad, but not great. It may not be a bad idea to make sure you chain up your tires, and that should give you a bit more grab in the rear.

i do everything i can in 2wd and hit 4wd when i get stuck or think im going to get stuck. meaning im in 2wd a LOT. youd be surprised what 2wd can do, especially with a locker. Chris (rock taco) sports it 2wd style, he'd have better experience to tell ya

i think neliconcept also is riding 2WD. depending on the conditions, im usually in 4WD as even the forest/fire roads here are quite the climb to get to any trail. yeah i could use 2H with or without the locker on, but why...i've got a 4WD for maximum traction! unless of course i wanna make like marcus gronholm and practice my throttle induced oversteer

ive done some tellico stuff and riverrock / gulches orv as well. 2wd locked can do some things, but skinny pedal is necessary and it can get scary. just get a group of people and people who are willing to tow you out if you get into it to much, i havent been hauled yet but it doesnt mean i wont be in the future

I took my 2wd up to the trails. Green-rated trails were no problem, but certain sections of blue-rated trails definitely had the "pucker" factor. I credit my BFG AT's for being the saving grace on the trail.
I have since decided to get a 4wd...

Ive taken my 2wd with the small 225 tires i can go though mud puddles about 6in deep no problem. Just go with friends that will give you a tug if needed. I was very surprised how capable the truck actually is.
