I have a 1991 Runner with the 3.0, auto trans, & 5.29 gears. My question is who all has them and how do you drive your rig? I find myself in 2nd alot being drive is a very relaxed gear with my set up. When wheeling I am usually in 4low and 2nd but run through all of the transmission gears throughout the run. Just curious to hear what other's do.

 

I let the tranny do the work for me...that's why I got an auto.

 

I leave mine in drive as well, unless I'm going down a steep hill. For downhills, I'll put it into 4lo and 1st.

 

I leave mine in drive also. Or like Robinhood said going down hills I will let first gear walk me down. For the most part the tranny is in the gear I would want to use anyway.
