I've got a 1990 and I was looking at the differences between the 2nd gen models and it said that the spare was moved underneath the truck in 92, but mine is underneath. Is this a conspiracy?

Also, I have been searching everywhere for a grill for my (90) 4runner to no avail. I only need the drivers side piece that wraps around the headlight. My local dealership has the whole grill, but that's gonna set me back almost $200. A little more than I want to pay. I saw some cheap versions of the 92-95 grill on Ebay. Any idea if I can get it to fit my 1990? Or does anyone have a 90 grill to sell me...

 

from 90 -91, i think there was an option to have the tire mounted, or underneath. in 92, the moved it to underneath for good. i thinks the story.

I got an aftermarket grill new (ordered from a yard) for $60. Just get an 89-91 pickup grill. The also pop up on ebay from time to time.
