That's right.....red or the burgundy....well let me ask this. I had a guy just by my 4runner floormats and I told him they were the brown/tan ones. He said yep, that's what I need, but now he's emailing me telling me they are the wrong ones and wants a refund. How do you guys think I should handle this?

First he agreed that he needed brown/tan but now says there wrong?? Thats his fault not yours. Ask him politely to send you a picture of his interior to prove it.

I'll do that and see what happens, but if it's the wrong color then what do you think I should do cause I'm still out shipping costs....I don't sell tons of stuff I just didn't need them and he said he did. I also think he posts on here some and don't want anything negative on my feedback as I'm a pretty fair guy if not more than fair to all I deal with...

So was this an eBay deal or a mutual sale through YT?

One thing i absolutlety can't stand are liars and thiefs that take advantage of honest people. It's a fact the 2nd gen Runner had 4 interior color options so theres no disputing that.

I'm not 100% sure but i think there were maybe a couple slightly different design patterns for the seats/door trim throughout the years but they were still of the same exact color that would not matter with floor mats.

I searched a lot when i replaced my '92 front seats (and dashboard) with ones from a '95 which were identical in color and design. I also searched for many interior pieces including floor mats only to know what was available.

Sounds to me like this guy is trying to pull a fast one. I'd call a few Toyota dealerships, search eBay, and search every 4WD Toyota website out there including YT and then tell this guy hes either full of crap or color blind.

If the buyer don't provide a picture then reply by asking, "If your interior is'nt brown/tan..then what is it"?? Send him a picture of your own if you have to.

From what I've researched and know, i strongly doubt they were the "wrong" color but if worse comes to worst, then i'd ONLY offer a refund for the price of the mats minus the shipping. In this situation, thats normal practice and very common for legit mistakes.

And BTW, if your worried about negative feedback on YT...don't worry.

Thanks rocket.....makes me feel a little better about it. It was a deal through YT so I figured it would be alright, but he's got very few posts so maybe that's part of it also. I'll do the pic deal and see what happens, but worse comes to worse I'll just refund the money minus shipping like you mentioned. Thanks again!

no man, he's not lying!!! don't try to screw this one over. There was a brown interior and a tan interior. AW1090, when I bought those handles from you they were brown, but i needed tan. I still installed 'em both in the back so it didn't matter and no one would notice, but they are quite possibly the wrong color. I don't know what Toyota did, but I know that your brown/tan and my brown/tan were not the same color, yours was much darker than mine.

Different Colors

Toyota does have different color schemes for different models of their cars and trucks, SR5's trucks and 4Runners come with slightly different color schemes and interiors than the standard models. You have to go by the VIN # to get the right part.

There was a light tan and a darker brown. I have a dark brown console I got from someone so I know this fer sure. I can think of 6 interior colors I've seen over the years in 2nd Gens.

Blue
Burgundy
Tan
Brown
Grey
Black (I think)

I know the darker brown color is called "Oak" because that's what I have in my truck.

I think there are two different blue interiors as well. I've seen some 4runners with blue seats that are a lot like mine except they have a different stitch pattern and a lighter blue (almost grey) center section on the seat. The door panels have the different stich pattern and color fabric too. Not sure what the difference is, since my 4runner is an SR5. Maybe the 2nd gen 4runners with a late '89 production date don't have the nicer interior?

Not too hijack or anything but what steering wheel is that and how do you like it? I've been looking for something similar.
