2dr OR 4dr?
OK...so now I'm curious...
What are YOU wheeling...2dr or 4dr??? Lets not count the gate.
And what do you like regarding your doors??
Would you trade your doors for the other?
Me, it's a 2dr, partly so junior doesn't let himself out at manuvering speed, but also because I have no other need to get in to the passenger area, I'm waaaay past the 'necking in the back seat' stage! Also less metal to rattle and less wind noise as well. And I also like the look.

2dr, as I wouldnt be limited in box size as much in street B. Im limited now to about 10 cubes internal. It would be tight to have another 10 cubes to work with.
When the money starts to roll in with grad school, Im going to track down a 2wd 2door, pick up a 2jz-gte and new tranny, drop it and make it a track monster. My current yota will be lifted a good 4".

This is my first 4 door vehicle ever.
I like it, it's easy to gain access to the rear stuff.
Blair, you mentioned your kid was opening the door on the Jeep.
One thing the Toyota engineers did that is real safety minded is to put a little slide switch on the rear two doors of the 4Runner.
You have to open the door to see it, but when you slide it to the locking position, no one on the inside can open it.
Even when the door lock is in the up position.
It works like a police vehicle not allowing anyone to get out.
The only way a rear passenger can get out then is if you open the door for them from the outside.
It's a cool safety feature to make sure your kids don't open the door and fall out.
Some don't know about this feature, I did not when I first got the rig.
I pulled a prank on one of my sons by activating it, and he could not get out
You can see the safety switch on the rear door here.

Guys,
During the summer of 91, one my fraternity brothers was riding with his neighbor friend in a doorless Jeep. They were getting onto the freeway when something happened that cause his friend to suddenly swerve to the left. My fraternity brother's right leg flew out, hit the car in front of it, and was severely damaged to the point where they had to amputate the next night.
Whenever I see an open door anything, I think about my friend. Something you guys should consider too if you ride open door.
