22re longevity

With 210,000 on the stock 22re, if the timing belt/water pump has been taken care of and its not burning to much oil is there any worries that it will go out soon. what im saying is that would it be better to rebuild it soon or save some money and try it make it last as long as possible?

210k should be fine if you're not burning much oil! if the water jackets in the head and timing chain cover haven't been eroded away from hard water in the coolant, the only worries would be piston rings. however, you can see that coming a long way in advance since power will gradually decrease and oil usage will increase.

if you feel adventurous, sure, go ahead and rebuilt it, it's pretty cool to have an intimate knowledge of your motor and it's not all that hard to do...
