22re alternator mount

Hi all,
I am getting this nasty noise coming from the engine at all rpm's. I located the problem and it is coming from the alternator. Where it bolts to the engine is lose, and it is rattling against the mount. I tightened the bolt but no help. It looks like there should be two rubber washers on each side of the mounting bracket. Mine are gone. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I correct about the rubber washers? How easy is this to fix?

thanks

I don't have any rubber washers on my 22RE alternator.
Not much to the bracket, a pivot bolt on the bottom and the tensions bolt on top. What was loose?
Are you sure its not something like the power steering idler pulley making noise?

The pivot bolt on the bottom was lose and that is where the noise is coming from. The one side of the bolt has a rubber washer of some sorts, the other does not.
The bolt will not tighten anymore, and I would assume I should not crank down on the bolt anymore?
It is a loud noise, and when I push on the alternator when it is running the noise stops.

Sounds a lot different than my '85. No rubber washers or anything. Maybe the nut is just bottoming out on bolt threads, try adding a washer under the nut to give it a little more room to tighten.

I don't have any rubber washers on mine either. I know that on the back of the lower pivot there is a steel bushing that moves to clamp your lower pivot othe alternator. It would be possible to have a couple of o-rings between the steel bushing and the mount. If this is the case it would be just like GM calipers from the 70's and 80's. Lose the o-rings (caliper bushings) and the calipers would rattle (not talking about the low pad indicator) until the brakes are applied. But I don't know if that is tour case or not but it is something to look at.
