2005 Tacoma Brochure

Well, the front cover anyway (but you have to see the back cover). They went all-out for this one, 24 glossy pages with foldouts and lots of outstanding lifestyle photos that I think accurately reflect your typical cool YotaTech member. Very different for Toyota, worth picking one up to put away. Notice the new exclusive truck logo? At dealerships now.

The different, mostly text eBrochure from the Toyota site

I went to my local dealer (Toyota of North Hollywood). He tells me that I can only get the dual cab 4x4 V6 with an automatic even though Toyota says it's available in a manual. So I called the dealer by my mom's house in Texas. They've got no problem getting me a manual transmission truck. What gives? Does my local dealer just want to sell whats on his lot?

Yup... I test drove a DC Auto yesterday and I liked it.... But I did not like the price of the TRD Off Road Package....

So... I would rather go with a SR5 Package and add stuff later on.... Salesman looked at me and said, you do not want alloy rims and the TRD Suspenion? I am like, Ummm NO....... Power windows/locks/mirrors/automatic/Air is pretty much all I need....

I really have no need to do serious off roading, so no skids are needed, maybe a front one just for looks.... And the Aftermarket support will be big on these trucks, so I can get better skids down the road.

Dealers are really not willing to work on price as of right now, atleast here in Michigan.

Eh, worst case scenario... Order the truck the way I want it, put a $500 dollar deposit down and then negotiate price with them when it arrives... If they do not go down to where I want to be, then I get my deposit back (make sure you can before ordering) and walk away... But in most cases, the salesman are willing to negotiate when you are at that stage... 2% over invoice is always a good number.

They've got the manuals sitting on the lot at my local store...walk up tell em what you want and you got yourself an '05 Tacoma.

They look really awesome!

I figured the dealer was yankin' my chain. I'll probably wait until this new Tacoma has been out for awhile and the initial rush to get one is over.

Am I the only one here that likes the current model better than the '05?
I traded my sweet '02 F150 for my '04 Tacoma because it's bigger than a Jeep, but small enough to go on all the trails...so far.

73.5 inches isn't long enough. Heck, the new '05 has a bed that is one inch shorter than the one on my '96.

Must.. have.. a.. longbed!

Right next to the wife and kids?

It is a beautiful truck..... I did notice the shocks were on the outside of the frame I think of the TRD Off Road DC I drove yesterday..... The rear shocks/ top's were inside the rear wheel well...

Anyone else confirm this?
