2003 Front plate, bracket ?

Is there some sort of bracket need to fit a front plate to my 2003 4Runner ? Nothing fits, the holes do not line up.

I couldn't find one, so I made one out of aluminum. Cost was about $4, then I added a frame, etc. for a little bit more.

I didn't like the idea of putting screw holes directly in the bumper.

A front tag braket should of come with the truck. All vehicles are supposed to be sold with one.

I thought they didn't have to give you a front bracket unless your state requires a front plate (mine doesn't.)

I'll go ask.

It's suppose to be free for the 03 4runner ownes Just tell them you need the front bracket for your plates.

They can not charge you for this as if your state requires front plates and you don't have mounts for them, they need to provide it for ya!

Unless they use the same approach Toyota did for the late 90's camry, where they expect you to put the license plate screws directly into the bumper. No bracket needed and none available (I checked).

holes dont line up

There are dimples that line up with the holes - very easy to put a screw through.

Of course if you dont want your plate right on the paint than a bracket would give you some clearance.
