I saw 2 2003 4Runner commericals on tv today.I must say those ads were unique.I like everything on the inside of the runner, but something needs to be done about the body style IMO.

 

I saw my first 03 commercial last night, not a bad commercial. They only showed brief glimpses of the truck. You can tell it is the sport model and they do a good job hiding the body cladding
They also have a two page spead in this weekends edition of USA Today if you haven't seen it yet.

 

I am an owner of an 02 sport model 4Runner. The new ones made me curious until I saw the plastic on the sides. (cladding). Seems that all of the auto manufacturers are designing and marketing for suburbia, not for utility. Oh well, I'll wait for the retro-cruiser to come to life!

 

I am not a big fan of the cladding either. I don't like it when you can wash half you car by simply wiping it down with Armor All or some other plastic protectant.

The H2 doesn't have CLADDING, CLADDAGE, Shopping Cart PLASTIC protectors, or whatever it is called that EVERY OTHER SUV MANUFACTURER seems to be putting on their SUV Wannabes.

Yeah, that's right.... I HATE what Toyota did to the 4Runner!

 

For cying out loud Whitey, would you just shut up and go buy an H2?

haha you are probably going to bite me for saying this but i think that the new runner looks better than the H2. i saw one of those a couple weeks ago and i didnt like it much. the H1 or whatever those hummers that came before the h2 i like a lot more... just my opinion though

i havn't seen the commercial but i might go watch TV so that i can. haha/

 

Ouch, them be fightin' words. How about a friendly little wager guys Whitey, in my opinion, stock for stock, a 2001 will probably fair better off-road overall than a 93. Granted, your 93 has a lot more potential, but from what I can tell, it's still stock. The 2001's have a more sophisticated 4WD system - which ultmately equates to more traction. Not to mention more IFS travel. My money's on the 2001 (as soon as the running boards are removed of course, LOL)
