Should fit fine, 3rd gens are double din. Did you already buy the adaptor bracket? Only problem you might have is depth clearence.

You should not have a problem with it. I also dont believe you will need any adapter bracket as you reuse the toyota metal side brackets. I have had 3 double din dvd players in my rig and they all fit fine. It does make it nice to get the wiring adaptor though...you can get that at any audio supplier.

when you say wiring adapter do you mean the harness? if so i got one of those. the reason i ask if it will fit it is because the console molding on the 4runner. i hope it doesn't block the controls etc? its houldn't right?

No. Your factory opening is a double din. So any radio that is a double din will fit perfectly in the opening.

Let us know how that brand works out for you, those Dual players are so much cheaper than the Alpines/Kenwood/(insert other well-known brand here). I have always been too concerned about build quality to pull the trigger on a Dual (an Alpine guy). Another thing is some of the flip down decks are waaaaaaay too elaborate imo and look like a transformer or something.
